What materials are used in yacht building?

For the construction of boats and yachts, a huge number of different materials are used. However, the Kherson Shipbuilding Company uses only two of them for the manufacture of ships, which have proved themselves to be the best. In particular, these are:

• Steel;
• Aluminum.

Each option has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, steel is defined by extra strength. To strike a steel hull is quite difficult even with heavy hits. Vessels made of steel adhere perfectly to the water and waves. The disadvantages include the tendency to corrosion. Even though the materials that are used for construction, are resistant to corrosion and heavyweights, steel yachts need proper and regular care.

As for aluminum, it is less durable than steel, but at the same time, it is also able to withstand quite strong hits and carry heavy capacities. This metal is also less tended to corrosion and lightweight, so aluminum yachts have the best sailing characteristics. The disadvantages of aluminum include less strength and a more complex care.
